For this portfolio piece, I wanted to focus on texturing, but I also wanted to incorporate optimization around a first-person camera perspective.

During this project, I wanted to expand my texturing skills, so I decided that learning wood and cloth combined with heavy damage texturing was a good training exercise. Something I thought I was up to date with was my UV and low poly skills but during this time I realised that I was wrong. A lot of time was spent on perfecting my UV map and low poly model so I could get as much detail on my textures as possible but also to get a low as possible poly count. This was achieved by straightening and scaling the UV according to the FPS camera and similar to where I placed bevels on the edges. I believe this project was the one that truly unlocked my texturing skills to another level, and with the help of amazing feedback from Anton Bång, I pushed my result beyond what I thought I could accomplish.
